Schools Activity Programmes in Scotland
Learning through the Outdoors!
Silver Hills Activities have been providing adventure activities for schools and youth groups for over 20 years and have long list of satisfied customers. We offer both activity day and residential courses. Outdoor education provides an exciting, physical medium for learning, aiming to develop each pupil as an individual, as a member of the school community and as a future adult member of society. We are based in the Loch Ness National Park which provides us with a great adventure playground with its mountains, gorges and rivers. This outdoor environment is a perfect tool for inspirational learning and we have designed courses which involve a combination of problem solving, team tasks and adventurous activities such as climbing, canoeing, kayaking, raft building, high level ropes, team building, hill walking, orienteering, problem solving, mountain biking, and gorge walking. For a full list of available activities please browse this site.
The courses we offer give students the opportunity to learn an unrivalled variety of new skill and abilities and to recognise and accept their own personal strengths and limitations.
The aims of our training programs are:
- To enhance learning and raise achievement
- To develop independence
- To encourage team work

Team building and personal development
All our courses encourage personal development, with a specific focus on the dynamics of successful teamwork. Our courses are tailored to meet the requirements of the students and the philosophy of the school. The health and safety of pupils participating in educational trips and visits is of paramount importance. We pride ourselves on our safety management, which is constantly revised. Our instructors are all qualified and hold current National Qualifications in each of the relevant fields they teach, together with a current First Aid Certificate and are CRB checked. In house training is undertaken by all instructors and assistants. On regular site inspections by senior instructors ensure that our safety standards are maintained. Equipment used at the centre meets with BSI or UIAA standards and is inspected before and after each activity. Periodic maintenance is carried out on all equipment with records kept at the office.
Your school's needs will be discussed before a definite program can be designed.
